BA Organizational Communication (OrCom) is my course at the University of the Philippines Manila. A course that I am truly proud of because the education it gives, is one of a kind. A course that will surely make its students successful in whatever path they may choose.
What is BA Orcom?
A course that offers a broad yet specialized learning in coping with the uncertainties of the environment and achieving the goals of the organization. Orcom students are trained to be business people involved in communication. The graduates of the program go in the field of Corporate Communications, Media-related occupations, Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing and Human Resources. Some graduates of the program also go in the field of Education and Law or build their own business
Why I am so proud of OrCom
I have really changed when I got into the OrCom program. From my appearance to my outlook on life and things, and to my language. It helped me evolve to things that I didn’t even think that I would achieve.
Number 1 thing that OrCom taught me is to think like an OrCom; Strategic and creative, Holistic yet specialized, organized and well planned, unique and critical. An Orcom disciple should and must think that way.
The 2nd thing that Orcom taught me is the concept of Power Dressing, nobody dresses like an Orcom. Orcom students are the best dressed students in the whole UP Manila Campus and maybe in the whole UP system, we dress for Success.
3rd thing I got from Orcom is the effective way or writing and speaking. From Comm 1-3 to Orcom 109.1 and 109.2 to Orcom199 and 200 and to all the majors of Orcom. We write and speak for success, professors teach the effective way.
I have really many things to write about OrCom, things that I really learned and realized, things that I really enjoyed being part of OrCom. But of course being a student of OrCom it would not be advisable to write long, because we were taught in Orcom that in making a blog or any writing material it should not be very long but thus it should be concise and straight to the point.
If you are reading this post and you are taking another course, SHIFT TO ORCOM NOW (hehehe!), and if you are a graduate of another program, TAKE ORCOM AS YOUR SECOND DEGREE. If you are part of the BA ORCOM program of UP MANILA, oh well CONGRATULATIONS you are surely taking the right path to success!
